(Wet) Paper Towns; John and Hank Green are in Seattle today

OMG, I stole Margo's face! (It's only because it's very early and my face isn't good enough, at the moment. Plus, she has better hair. :p)

Long story short: today is that day.
The day where Kimmi, D, Becca and even my crazy not-such-a-huge-fan-of-
YouTubers/Nerdfighters & Vloggers-- brother, are going to meet John and Hank Green. I am so excited for them.

Kimmi is going to get my copy of "Paper Towns" as well as "Looking For Alaska" signed by John for me. She's also even going to take the article I did on EcoGeek last year (along with a note for Hank) to give to him (and maybe even get a copy of the article signed for me.)

In my heart and face I cannot hide nor deny the fact that I am helplessly fangirling. I cannot wait until the guys come back to Seattle (or I get the opportunity to go to them at a different location.)

Adam and a couple of his friends (whom I can't recall who are 'cuz Kimmi told me in a slur) are going to be there, as well. It's going to be epic because tomorrow Kimmi and I are going to hang out with them all in Seattle. I'm excited for that and it somewhat softens the impact tonight will be having on me. I am a little sad, I will be honest.

Just think of all the cameras! Oh, wow! So many Nerdfighters in one place. It's going to be amazing. :D Have fun, guys!

Drastic subject change: I was somewhat stressed out last night so I took a shower and painted my nails deep red. It made me feel a little better. I also vented at my mum and she just let me talk and talk and talk until I noticed she had finally fallen asleep. Awh. n_~

I've been working on my website and even got myself a fancy-smahnchy domain name. Go check it out and let me know what you think if you have a moment or two? www.malarayofsunshine.com Oh, and yes, that most certainly is TROCK playing on my front page. Kimmi doesn't find it half as entertainingly awesome as I do, but we both still know we need to re-record. :p

That is all.
Until next time, DFTBA.
xx mal

p.s. The title today is a reference/joke on to a stereotypical, Stephanie Meyer-esque Seattle day. Just so everyone knows: it's a sunny day today. Oh, and because I really wanted to add something before "Paper Towns" and it was either "rainy" or "wet" to go hand-in-hand with afore mentioned stereotype and "wet" worked better cuz paper can get wet and can't be rainy and paper is a lot less fun when it's wet. Truth.

The Noble Sisters

Who are those crazies?
I have no idea.
HAH!

Wow. So a lot has happened in the last day! (Or two?) Kimmi and I recorded our first song and hope to have another out by beginning of next week! The Noble Sisters. (Go download the song! It's called "Falling For a Time Lord.")
(We updated our group channel on YT with a new video as well. SincerelySunshine; go see!)

We would love constructive criticism and feedback of any sort on the song. Leave comments here, on our video or on our MySpace. It's a really big help, seriously.

Maybe you're wondering where we got the idea for our name? Well, Kimmi came up with it and basically, it's simply because Donna Noble is our favourite companion. Haha.

It's really mental because it's been something like 5 days since Alex (Nerimon) posted the introductory "Trock" video that he did and everywhere I look, now, I see explosion of Trock. I was really surprised to see, whilst searching around on fellow Trock band Its A Sonic Screwdriver's MySpace, that Trock is already in the news. WIRED magazine, no less! (Click here for the article.) So that's kind of really big news.

It's kind of a weird feeling having jumped in on the front end (very front end) of what is prolly going to be a new and big internet thing. (Kind of like Wrock.) I have good feelings all around about this and I can't wait to see it grow exponentially.

Fans and musicians alike are all grouping at this lovely forum that Alex and Charlie created so we could all keep in touch, share ideas and be all fan-ish about "Doctor Who" together. There are already so many awesome bands and cool people taking part in this new Trock phenomenon, it's so awesome!

This is going to be such an exciting ride out of summer holiday!

Coffee beans

Hey all,
How's life?
I hope it's well.

I just felt it was time to blog again.

First and foremost, we're finally moving into a real house starting tonight and finishing tomorrow. Thank you all for all the prayers and help as we must have looked at/put offers on at least 12 houses literally. All I can say is, thank you God that that part of the struggle is over. Now, on to new ones!

Tonight we will be going over to stay the first official night there and tomorrow we move in the rest of our junk as well as bring the kitties over to live. :]

(So if I'm not online for a few days, now you know why!)

If any of you want "stuff" I will most certainly be getting rid of like, everything, as soon as possible when we're settled. So, I'm your go-to-stuff girl, if you so desire any form of random "stuff." I'm just so tired of having clutter and so much junk around! All I really want are my books, photo stuff and I suppose clothes would be appropriate. But, yeah. Just have too much junk and I hate it.

You know, it's kind of funny, because up until a while ago no one read this blog. Then like, two people I knew in real life did, but now I have a funny feeling that a few of my world wide web friends are reading it occasionally as well.

Okay, so that isn't the funny part. The part that makes me kind of chuckle is that even though people read it (and I'm sure read it even when I thought no one did) it is hard to write here while thinking, "Oh, someone – anyone – could read this blog." Does anyone else discover this strange phenomenon? It just doesn't cross my mind and so I write/say whatever.

Even when I make videos on YouTube (which I am painfully new to the community, by the way) after I met a few people, it seems odd to think that anyone but those few people that I talk to are watching my videos. But I don't know the few hundred people that watch my video and don't comment or the few other people I don't talk to who do comment. It's kind of odd to think about and makes me a little crazy when I try. Ha!

The basic point I want to make is this: this is the world wide web, right? So anything I post here in any shape or form is viewable to the masses. And what I do post is only a tiny snippit of everything. I mean, I don't always post super in-depth life struggles here, or on YouTube, who would want to know? But at the same time, it's kind of a nice feeling knowing someone out there does.

Back to life: I've been applying for jobs at all the local Starbucks' so hopefully that will work out. I'm going to take my applications in on Monday. Yay! (Rather odd, seeing as how I don't love coffee, but rather tea. They have the most amazing tea drinks, though and my mum is stoked about free coffee. Ha!) Any other places I should apply, do you guys think? I just love the idea of Starbucks (they have great pay, benefits and are very environmental! [w00tw00t!]) I'm just rather fixed on Starbucks, now. Once I get my mind set on liking something it's rather hard to change it to something else. I suppose I'm very focused. *laugh*

I've been planning like crazy for my trip next weekend and just got a load of maps. So that made me excited.

I now have to go and ruthlessly pursue the university I will be attending this fall. They seem to have the nasty habit of never being in at office hours and never calling back if you leave a message. Oh, and they leave out tons of bits of instructions that you need to follow and get in order in order to be able to attend. Poo on them.

The Paper

gideon

There's my photo from Monday, all you lovers out there. :]
I haven't had a spare moment since getting home Saturday night, so I'm sorry I haven't uploaded! I'm back on track now, though. So that's good.

The big news in my life is that as of today, the paper is done. It's kind of a relief but I kind of wish a lot of things had gone differently. Either way, it was a learning experience and I grew a ton. I also learned a lot about me.

Everything about today was kind of just, not.
The hall as I left the office after packaging it up for the last time smelled like lipstick not like when I was leaving after the first time when it smelled like rain. I had my iPod in and was listening to Dave (MusicFromBlueSkies) as I walked to class and it just kinda felt like I was the only one walking around. Which wasn't really the case.

It was raining today. The faucet in the girls' bathroom in the music wing was leaking. That made me sad. (The leaky faucet, not the rain.)

I was supposed to help two of my friends film a film for their film classes. (Wow, that was a lot of "film" in one sentence.) But the first one canceled on account of the rain and it being an outdoor movie and the second canceled the movie altogether. (Kind of sad, really. It was a sequel to a film he did last quarter. I'll have to upload it to YouTube if it's alright with him . . .)

Then, to top it all off, we had a bomb threat. Now, before you get all freaked out, they happen all the time. So much so that when and if the school really would be blown up I am pretty sure everyone would just mosey to their deaths. (Can you see the little light flashing? Those alarms are so very loud and obnoxious. I jumped when it went off, how embarrassing.)

I also almost ran over a chipmunk today. But I missed him. Thank goodness.

Wow, sounds like I've been busy.

Well, as in any situation my camera was by my side during the bit I was standing with friends before I left and here are today's photos of the day courtesy whoever didn't want to take their final and called in the bomb threat:

Here we have Roland.

And then Joanna.

Have you hugged a hermit today?

Hello, world.

Here is just a really quick update to letcha all know how I am/what is up.

I am:
-Fine
-Tired
-Almost done with school (24 days?! Nah, but who's counting?)
-Working on a ton of projects

To do - SOON:
-New blog (I owe you: Eisley photo blog)
-New vlog

New in my life:
-YouTube awesomeness:
(www.youtube.com/themysterychannel; yeah, I'm addicted.)
-Journalism award (I got 3rd place, I'll show ya soon)

That is kind of a reader's digest version. I'll post a proper blog and a new vlog in the next day or so, promise.

In other news: gas is ridiculously high and I may start boycotting it by just staying home and being even more of a hermit than I (supposedly) am now. I'm not convinced it's a bad thing, though. Like my sister always says, "Hermits are the backbone of society."

I digress

I feel like you must feel like all the poor little puppies or kitties do when their owners bring home the new pet called a "baby." I've been shamefully ignoring you and I am ever so sorry.

What is my excuse, you might ask? To put it as straightforward and as simply as possible: my vlog. (You know where it is, go have a look see.) In all seriousness, however, I am going to be writing and/or "vlogging" about this dangerous technology called YouTube soon. It is just so addicting! This is me you're listening to, I know! Me, the lover of the written word to the MAX. But I still cannot tell a lie; YouTube has got me by my sweet tooth.

I do have some news that I am just not clever enough to have included in any of my YT (do you mind if I abbreviate "YouTube" like that? It's just a drag to write it out each time) vlogs: I've gotten my new camera ordered. So my smashing, entry-level digital SLR Nikon D40x should be in the mail any day. I don't know what to do with my glee! I will obviously shoot a lot of photos the instant the thing is in my hands. Photos that I can't post on YT. So, stay posted and excited for that.

At the moment I'm a little perturbed because Firefox has taken up the habit of not letting me load a url if it doesn't have a "www" in front of it. I don't know what the root of this problem is but I do not intend to get to the bottom of it. You may if you like, though. I just simply cannot be bothered at the moment. Hm, actually, sounds like if I don't have time to be bothered I shouldn't have time to complain either. Woah, ponder that one, self.

I have two photographs to share with you before I go for now, but keep checking back! (And go check out my blog and also Jimmy0010 and Amazing Phil on YT. They are seriously the coolest.)

Frieden und viel LIEBE,
Mal

P.S. Have you noticed my mistake in meaning to say "frieden" instead of "ruhe" at the end of all my posts? Yes. I just did. How amusing. xP
