Running: ouch, it hurts!

I ran on Tuesday for the first time in for ages. I walked half a block and jog/ran the other half. A dog followed me for a bit, but I told him off and he went to wander home. I warmed up before and cooled down afterward but ouch, now I'm achy.

That same day my sisters and I went out for a girl's day at the mall! I bought them new dresses (for the Vision Banquet) and some other frivolous things that made all of our hearts happy. Shopping with me is so much fun. I also took them by the new (and HUGE) Apple store. I finally broke down and bought a 1TB hard drive (hopefully the right one, as it was suggested by Mr. Video-man Ryan) and everyone knew we were sisters because apparently we look "a lot alike."

I think whatever has been taunting me for the past few weeks has caught up with me and I think it's partly because I let my body get all worn out with that run. It's like a blaring neon sign, "I'm down, come get me!" and I think it has. Unfortunate, but oh well. It'll go away soon, I don't have time to be sick so I'm pretending it's not real and I'm sure it will go away. 99% of any sickness is mental, you know. (That's not the real statistic, but it's something huge like that. Basically, almost all of any sickness is in your head.)

The new Apple store is phenomenal and it feels like we've been in there forever, now, but everything is also so new! I love it so much. The day we opened the doors (which are awesomely computer-high-techish) on Saturday, I ran into Kristina at H&M on break. That was tons of fun. It was good to see her again. She stopped by the store to say hello to me but I was still not back yet, so I missed her. But it was cool that she got to see the store and meet D. (D knew who she was but didn't let on. He is hilarity.)

Summer is coming up and so is the next NW YouTube gathering. (I'm bringing D, this year.) It's going to be so incredible! The number of people who are saying they're going to be there is so epic. I'm stoked.

Speaking of summer, I have some good news and some bad news regarding the next two semesters of school. In January (J-Term) I will be taking an 8-10.50 a.m. class every day of the week for the whole month. It's going to be crazy and I am seriously (and almost surely) going to be moving in with Lexi for that month. (Aren't they sweet to even allow me to?!) Then come spring semester, things are going to get ugly. I will have so much school! I discovered the other day, while attempting to plan an availability sheet for work for spring, that I signed up for all 01-(first semester) classes. Oh noes! The reason this is good is that I will be done by May 15, which is almost two months earlier than everyone else and I'll be able to work a whole lot more (again) starting sooner than I originally thought. The reason this is bad is that I am taking six classes, all 01-semester classes. That means that seventeen course hours are going to be crammed into a much, much shorter time period and that the work load is going to be much, much greater than I originally thought. (And I originally thought that it was going to be massively heavy. I was right. Now just multiply that times 2.5, at least.) I will make it through, never-the-less. Just know that if you don't see me EVER (not that you do now) then you will see me even less than never. Poo on toast.

God has hugenormously blessed me in my young life. Lexi and I had an good little talk today about our lifetime and all the things that God is starting to do. We were talking about how we really and honestly feel like things are starting to wrap up and that things probably will within our lifetimes. It makes me so excited. I absolutely love talking to her about things like that. God is so good to His people to allow them to carry out His massive (and awesome) plans on this earth. I am so honored and proud to call myself a child and servant of God. He has got some mind-boggling things planned, let me tell you. I cannot WAIT to be a part of them and continue to help make His name famous in all the earth. :D

p.s.
LOLcats make me smile. I'm so glad I have the widget. If I ever have a bad day or just need a little giggle it's just pop up the good ol' F12 (yes, I haz Tiger, for all you Mac nerds like me) and there is a smiling, ridiculous LOLcat to provide it. <3

Guess what I am?

I'm going in to fill out paperwork later today. (When the rest of the world is awake.)
I'm giddy excited to start working there.

Trixie Spike Speical

I love my sisters.

Since I posted last I got the internship at the radio station at uni, so that's awesome. I have an interview with Apple tomorrow as well. Life is going superrrr well. :]

This weekend me and the fam went and saw "Get Smart." Twice. It was high-larious. Steve Carell is so amazing. I completely am in love with him.

I've been hopping up on not only "Gilmore Girls" this past week but also catching up on my episodes of "Doctor Who." (Bout time, don't you think?)

Kimmi and I have officially jumped onto the Trock bandwagon. The Noble Sisters. That's us! We'll have more content/songs up really soon. Add us? :] (Original video, by Alex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PyV9N3fR7U) So exciting! More updates on that next time.

The podcast really will be up on SincerelySunshine.
So will a new video.

Some cool stuff in the works with Meghan, Zack and Rache. I'm SUPER stoked.

We also got a new kitten! Trixie Spike Speical (in joke, there, I didn't spell "special" wrong.) Isn't she just the bee's knees?! Only trouble is she brought home fleas. :P

sometimes, i give my sister black eyes.*

I filmed all the footage I'll ever need and more for Vern's Intertwyne video, that should be edited soon.

We're (Kimmi, Vern, Becca and I) going in to the Apple store today after Vern's dentist appointment to get him a Mac. I'm mainly excited about this because, while I get to actually be a smart person and know things today, I am also getting myself a new mouse and FinalCut.

Oh my gosh, cloning here I come.

Before I go, here is a sneak peek at what's in store in this game video:

*No Kimmis were harmed in the making of this video.
p.s. This photo constitutes what makes up a VERY small part of the video, so if you're reading this, Clint; your video will be awesome, I promise.

You're a PC and I'm a Mac

Okay, so this is my first blog written off of my brand new MacBook. (Yes, even though I got it in September, ha!)

Life has been crazy, busy, exciting, unpredictable, ever changing, fascinating and completely tiring as of late. But I am loving it. (Did I just say I'm loving it? It's annoying, but somehow, it's alright. It is an adventure, that's for certain. God, however, is always good. So that's the part I'm loving. ;])

As of now, this blog entry has lost all it's former glory. Welcome to December. Peace.

Today, tomorrow's yesterday

Isn't that an odd thought? Everyday was a "tomorrow" is a "today" and will be a "yesterday." Makes life seem short, but I think it's crazy. Ha!

Well, with school starting tomorrow the first issue of the paper will be out. I'll admit it, I'll be frank, I'm a little more than just a "tad" nervous about how it looks. I mean, I know we have a killer center and solid content (for the most part) but a couple things just were rushed due to the fact that they blew themselves up at the last minute and had to be mended at around 11pm when everything was supposed to be done already anyway. (That was a long sentence, yikes!) Point is: I hope it looks solid and good for the first day of school.

Did I tell you about my classes? They're pretty standard: I'm starting German (SO excited!) taking a journalism class (oh the irony!) and also taking a history class, it's going to be veryveryvery awesome.

The best news ever (recently) is that I ordered my MacBook! Finally, right? Oh man, no more toiling away without coolness on PCs for me any longer. I've got a Mac! Ha! I'm so excited, I even got it with Aperture on it already - tons of photographic playing lies ahead in my future!

Today I drove Miss Jetty Blueberry to school, for the first time! It was so exciting, she's such a wonderful car. I'm very lucky to have such an uncle as Uncle Bill. =]

Another thing, if you haven't already seen the new film "Becoming Jane" (Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy) you need to. It's amazing. I am so inspired by Jane Austen and they did such a good job portraying her life. It was wonderful. Okay, so what that McAvoy is a very good looking man? It would have been fine without him. Sort of. Not really, that was a lie.

Why don't you "MySpace" it to me?

Ha! I actually said that today. It made me laugh. "Yeah! I'll MySpace it to you!" I said. Wow. What a thing this world has come to. The funniest thing to me is that email has almost become irrelevant. What people do now is message each other on MySpace, Facebook, or they just text.

Which brings me to my other point of annoyance: chatspeak. Now, for those of you who might not be as nerdy as me, "chatspeak" is typing like this: "i luv u so much!" or "how r u?" etc., etc., etc. It's annoying, unnecessary, and sloppy. It is my biggest pet peeve ever. The public school system is lacking enough already, you don't need to help your own declination into stupidity with chatspeak and poor grammar.

Now, taking into consideration where the the whole "chatspeak" thing came up in the texting world (that's right, I didn't include the WWW, that's something different all together) was due to the character limits. Who really wants to send a text three characters over to a "not-your-network" person and get charged for an extra text with three extra characters in it? Not me. But also not the point. Sure sometimes I can see it, but I'm just asking, why? Why do we really have to type or text like that?

I'm sure you've heard all the stuff about the schools and the essays and yadda, yadda? Students are writing essays filled with chatspeak! How tacky and lame! Come ON you guys, we are SO much cooler/better/awesomer than that. Typing is really a lot faster if you dont't use chatspeak, to be perfectly honest.

On MySpace even Tom, good ol' Tom, uses poor grammar and the occasional chatspeak in his bulletins to the whole site. Why?! It's so aggravating, really. I mean, the shift key is right there. Learn to type, learn to spell, and learn how to use punctuation please for the love of all things literate!

Sure I'll slip in a "ily" here and there, but for goodness sakes not as a carved in stone habit. In this day and age we are surrounded by technology. People would rather blog than journal, text than call, and "MySpace message" than email. How funny we humans are. Do people even know what paper is anymore? Journals? Pens with ink in them? Crazy, crazy stuff. It makes me laugh, giggle, and on occasion, scoff. I'm sorry, I just can't help it. I mean, sure, technology has brought us so many amazing things: Apple Macs, iPods, cell phones, just to name a few, but why must we be so silly about how we use it? Why let our standards slip from one medium to the next? If you were writing a card to your great-grandma would you write: "Hi Gma, I luv u tonz. Hope u r good. Its sunny now, is it sunny there 2. Have fun w/all the stuff ur doing, write soon. Luv, ____"? I didn't think so! She wouldn't be able to read it, it's painful!

One last thing before I end this; their, they're, there. It's, its. Your, you're. Our, are. To, too, two. Learn the difference. You look really silly when you can't use these words correctly.

Okay, I'm all done for now. But if you have a moment, vote for Blake on "American Idol", he loves you, so why don't we all show him some love too?

Peace + LOVE,
Mallory

*Disclaimer*: Yes, the "letter" was spelled, punctuated, and chatspeak-i-fied on purpose, particularly the "its". It's a common error I spot. The end.
